Portugal coach Jorge Jesus has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s lengthy statement on their recent dispute, saying he has “nothing more to say” after reading the forward’s account.
Jesus was approached by journalists on Wednesday morning as he left his home for the Portuguese Football Federation headquarters, where he confirmed that he had now read Ronaldo’s statement but has chosen not to engage further, insisting that his focus is on his work with the Portuguese national team.
“I read the statement and now, like I do every day, I’m going to the Federation headquarters to work, to think about the Portuguese national team,” Jesus said, according to a post shared by football journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X, on Wednesday.
“I have nothing more to say,” he added.
His response comes a day after Ronaldo publicly gave his detailed version of the events that led to his departure from the Portugal camp during the recent international window.
The Al Nassr captain accused Jesus of a breach of trust and failing to keep his word twice—first by failing to bring him on against Norway after asking him to warm up, and later by not delivering agreed talking points at a press conference.
Ronaldo’s statement came amid growing uncertainty over his international future following the fallout with Jesus.
Jesus had initially maintained that there was no lasting rift between them and that Ronaldo remained eligible for future selection.
